The Happy Newspaper features ecoACTIVE

The Happy Newspaper like to shine a light on different charities or campaigns doing wonderful things in their community and we’re delighted to be the charity to be featured in this quarter’s issue.

In a world where news cycles are dominated by negative events, The Happy Newspaper is a breath of fresh air. Launched in 2015 through a Kickstarter campaign, this quarterly publication is dedicated to sharing positive news and stories of everyday heroes from around the world. Each 32 page issue, organised chronologically, is bursting with good news, including stories of individuals, groups, and organisations making a difference in their communities. With themes that range from showbiz to food, and beautifully colourful illustrations, The Happy Newspaper is not your typical newspaper.

The Happy Newspaper want to shed some light on this world we’re living in and remind people just how much good stuff happens. We celebrate the Everyday Heroes, the people who don’t expect to be praised for what they do on a day-to-day basis, those who have turned horrific events into a time to be proud of humanity, the people who didn’t help somebody else to go viral on Facebook but because they make us believe this world has the potential to be better.

Join the movement to spread positivity and celebrate the good that's happening in the world.

Designer and illustrator, Emily Coxhead, first had the idea of The Happy News when she was just 22 years old. She was going through a tough time and began to notice the negative impact that the news was having on her. Emily created her colourful and quirky range of greeting cards, products, and books, along with The Happy News, all from her bedroom in a tiny village in Lancashire. Five years later, her mission to spread happiness continues, as The Happy News has gained over 20,000 subscribers across 33 countries each quarter. Alongside her creative pursuits, Emily enjoys taking photographs, baking cookies, sipping tea, and spending time by the sea.

The Happy News For Schools

In September 2020, an exciting initiative was launched called The Happy News for Schools, which is dedicated to providing free Happy Newspapers to schools across the UK. The main objective with this initiative is to ensure that children have access to positive news, especially during these challenging times. The Happy News firmly believe that it's important for children to learn about the good things happening in the world. We're thrilled to see so many schools and children benefiting from this program, and it brings us great joy to spread a little happiness!

The Happy News sent over 100,000 newspapers to schools in the UK throughout 2021. This has been possible thanks to our wonderful subscribers and the huge external support we have received.

Any school in the UK can sign up and will be in with a chance of receiving free newspapers each quarter. The Happy News run the initiative like a raffle so all schools will, at some point, receive free newspapers.

You now have the option to donate to The Happy News for Schools initiative, where all money raised will go towards the cost of sending newspapers to schools.
