Community Garden Training Programme - Thanks to Support from the Bupa Foundation!
We’re delighted to announce a brand-new phase for ecoACTIVE’s Community Garden Network, made possible through an exciting grant from the Bupa Foundation!
Over the next year, we’ll be boosting the skills, confidence and leadership of volunteers across our network through a special programme of 10 expert-led training events. These sessions will be hosted by community gardens themselves, creating fantastic opportunities for learning and for celebrating the brilliant green spaces already flourishing across our neighbourhoods.

We are passionate about creating opportunities for communities to connect with nature, learn sustainable practices, and thrive together. Thanks to the generous support of The Julia Rausing Trust, we are expanding our mission to foster vibrant community gardens and empower individuals through education, collaboration, and environmental stewardship.
Community Garden Network events and training Feb 2024
Our community garden network seeks to help community gardens and community gardeners to get together and share ideas and experiences, as well as skills, training and funding possibilities. Through these activities our small and increasingly resilient network of gardens and gardeners in Hackney is growing.
Allotment Demand in Hackney: Nurturing Community Gardens Amidst Limited Spaces
The waiting list for plots will re-open for new members between 1st and 29th February 2024.
The Hackney Allotment Society members agreed at the AGM in October 2023 that the waiting list will be re-opened for a limited period to admit up to one hundred new members. The application period will run from 1st and 29th February 2024.
